Nikkai Usb Serial Driver
Hi Hudson, Thanks for contacting Plugable Support, we’ll be able to help. Here’s a link to a page with instructions for installing the USB to Serial cable on Windows 7. Following the instructions at the page above will walk you through the process of installing the drivers and getting the COM port assigned correctly. Once the device is showing up in Device Manager, you’ll need to configure the settings in the software package you want to communicate with to use the correct COM port. Let me know how it goes!
Several years ago I purchased a set of 'USB to IDE or SATA adapter. I went to StarTech.com web site looking for a driver for Windows 7 but. Installation of the PL2303 and CH340 / CH341 / HL340 drivers is easy. Download the driver for your OS X version from the download dashboard.
Thanks again, Jerome Myers Plugable Technologies.
I've read through this thread with interest and have subsequently registered on the site to try and get some advice. I have a generic USB to RS232 cable which I purchased on fleabay. When plugged into my laptop windows 7 automatically updated the required drivers for it and it works fine. However, I also need it to work with a desktop PC which is running XP home and I have spent three hours trying to install drivers without any success. I have downloaded pretty much every driver mentioned on this thread without any luck and really don't know what to do next. When I try to install the drivers manually the wizard can't find suitable drivers in any of the files downloaded.

I have seen some people mention.rar files but how do I get XP to recognise these as driver files? Any advice is greatly received.
