Sp Daten V49
Hi I was trying to 'get started with WinKFP 5,1' and i used the attached how to guide. When i did this i got lot of fail errors in the winKFP when i. Type 'sp daten v49' in the search bar minus quotations before sending a PM. Again, credit goes to crypticc for the original find, now is anybody willing to seed an ICOM Emulator? To any who download pls help seed.
Please allow me to vent. I have spent countless hours on forums trying to make INPA work. All I want is to read my fault codes. I have installed and re-installed, watched youtube videos, read tutorials.
Still not success. There are too many versions, too many downloads, too many badly written or incomplete tutorials. (Note: I am an engineer with advanced degree).
It seems car guys and computer guys don't mix To make it short: Downloaded Coding pack. E88 does not show up in INPA menu. Then download latest version of SP-DATEN-E89 (v49), all 3 GB of it and latest BMW Coding tool (v 250).
Update SP-DATEN from this latest version. Learn that I have to use E89 for E88. E89 does not show up in INPA menu. So change inpa.ini to 'add' E89.
But of course, 'Couldn't find INPA configuration file. E89.ENG' error. HOW COULD IT BE THAT SP-DATEN-E89 does not contain E89.ENG somewhere? The irony is that NCS Expert works just fine.
But I don't want to code, I just want my $%^!@$# fault codes. What am I missing? Sorry for my rant. The only thing I have successfully done with INPA is to check to see that I was getting signals. When I want fault codes, I use torque on my Samsung tablet. I used it today to read a code on my wife's Tundra. I was a Toyota specific code and Torque read it and gave an explanation and later cleared it.
Very nice for a $5 piece of software. I also had to buy a $25 OBDII to bluetooth device but still.

Jim A coding FAQ to show how you coded the vert to lower the top without comfort access would be awesome. (Hint, hint) Posted from 1addicts.com App for Android. It's probably best to check the other website I mention above. The changes for the top going down are not extensive and if that's all you really need I'll post them. I've already posted them to the other website and may have posted them here before. But to be able to make changes you need a cable that has a analog to digital converter built in so your laptop can communicate with your car.
I spent about $100 on mine. The software is 'free' but hosted by websites you pay to use, I believe. I downloaded a zip file somebody at the other site was kind enough to post. What I got works fine for NCSExpert but may be the reason I can't launch INPA. The other at least highly recommended thing is a tutorial that has about 90 steps to walk you through the process. It results in adding a digital speedometer - your first code change.
So if you've done these things and want the specific changes for the top, that is no big thing. But repeating all the instructions to get you to that point is more, I think, than can reasonably be done in this thread. It is really neat to hit the 'open' button on the fob and have the windows go down and the top then go down as you are walking up to the car.
