Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medicine The University of Pittsburgh offers one of the only bachelor degree programs in Emergency Medicine (EM) in the United States. This program is designed to provide our graduates with a competitive advantage in EMS, health care, and graduate and professional study. Many graduating EM students use this foundation to continue on to medical school, physician assistant school, or other graduate-level programs. Students are provided with a strong foundation in clinical experiences, educational expertise, and administrative leadership. The program faculty are leading educators in their fields and take a dynamic and multidisciplinary approach to emergency medicine education. At the completion of their junior year, students who have met the eligibility requirements may take the National Registry Paramedic examination to become national- and state-certified paramedics. The Emergency Medicine Program has an outstanding track record of success on the certification examinations.

General Information Our program is a strong community-based emergency medicine experience! We work at two sister facilities, located on either side of the state line between West Virginia and Ohio allowing our residents to learn the nuances of different state laws and how they affect medical practice. Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC), our larger facility, acts as a regional referral center for several smaller facilities in the surrounding area. Our staffing model allows residents to take a progressively larger role in the operation of the ED as they move through the program. Our senior residents see attending-level numbers of patients in each shift. Additionally, we are an unopposed residency.

Serial number lookup In 1990 the Serial numbers for CE Models were 1831-3200.

Our residents become proficient in a broad range of procedures through repeated, hand-on exposure. Typically, our residents have fulfilled the procedural requirement of the program by the end of their first year. We emphasize the practical use of ultrasound in many aspects of our ED care and our residents develop proficiency through practice, online teaching modules, and workshops. We are the only facility in our area where our attending staff is all Emergency Medicine Board Certified. We have a very stable attending staff and do not have any locums providers. Our facilities are staffed by US Acute Care Solutions who are fully committed to the residency program and have been for more than a decade. Residents have the opportunity to be involved in monthly Quality Improvement and Business meetings as well as accompanying our attendings national leadership meetings for USACS.

This rounds out our medical education with an equally important education in the aspects of medicine as a business. Many of our senior residents moonlight at other facilities providing desperately needed EM trained physicians to smaller hospitals who struggle to fill staffing needs or at other, larger regional facilities. Our graduates have stepped directly into attending roles at a large variety of facilities from the rural ED to urban Level I facilities without missing a step. In addition to consistently demonstrating clinical excellence after graduation, our graduates have demonstrated academic excellence as well with a 100% first-time board pass rate for the last three years. We will fill six spots this year and have filled all of our spots for the last several years. We strongly encourage an audition rotation. We typically have auditioning students July through December.

There are a limited number of audition spots so make arrangements early. Contact Shelley Trouten at 304-234-1728 or at. ACGME/AOA Status We received ACGME accreditation in 2016. We are a 3 year program starting with the incoming class of 2016. We currently participate in the NRMP (ACGME) match. Didactics Program We have a strong didactics program at OVMC. Our didactics occur every Thursday from 7:30 AM until 1 PM.

Shrift jack daniels kirillica. So it goes with speculation on who taught Jack Daniels to make his famous Tennessee whiskey. Green got short shrift from the Daniels distillery for.
