She won the 11th Koudansha annual manga award with the work Nana iro magic in 1987. Asagiri is good at drawing pretty people and using SD-characters at appropriate times, and has a flair for fashion. Focusing on shoujo-manga, most of her works are published by Koudansha, but recently she made a vague comment about wanting to be free and try something new. Her newest works are now published in Shoujo Friend & Shoujo Comic. There is also an Asagiri Yuu (name spelled differently with kanji, 朝霧夕) who published some 'racy' stuff. After she had a car accident and was in hospital, Asagiri realized that she should write the stories she always wanted to do rather than the shoujo-manga she was 'forced to do'. She then started to do adult stuff.
